| “My career started at the
age of 12 when I would be continually rearranging all the furniture at home
and found that my great love of flowers were being brought into the house
from the garden. On one occasion, not having a suitable container to put
these flowers in, I took down a valuable, hanging chandelier bowl and used
this, much to the horror of my mother when she returned!
I always wanted to be an interior decorator but
at that age I did not know what that meant and I was fortunate to have
started in the very early days before the explosion of popularity of
interior design as we know it today. I have been privileged
throughout my career to have worked for some wonderful families, some
very famous but mostly discreet clients who wanted their homes
decorated for their own pleasure and not for show. |
| I am a classical
decorator. I am not fashionable, my style goes before me and its
consistency has proved hugely successful. I am basically an interior
designer of private homes but I have, on the odd occasion, completed a few
commercial projects, one being the original creation for M. Raymond Blanc of
Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire. This was nearly 20 years ago and
I was very lucky to obtain worldwide exposure for which I have always been
very thankful. My work takes me to America, France, the Balearics and the
Far East. I have been extremely fortunate throughout my career in making so
many wonderful friends and I am proud to say I have not lost a ‘patient’
throughout this time.” |
